2026: Valgard

Hold onto your helmets, Paultons is cooking up something special! We’re getting super excited as the park gets ready to launch a brand-new Viking-themed area in 2026; looking at everything we know so far, this will be the parks most ambitious project...ever! 2025 is going to be filled with Viking updates, speculation and hopefully much anticipated official announcements 🤞🏻 What are your predictions?

A Viking theme is always great and open to lots of potential.
We have Vikings at Drayton Manor which we can look to for reference- however I feel the Paulton's version will be incredibly different (which is great)

I'd love to see great quality theming, some flats and a coaster. I'd love to see shows and a dark ride or walkthrough but not sure if we would see those.

Rumour has it a Mack Water coaster is coming in 2027 as a second year phased expansion. No idea what 2026 will bring, they're currently drilling the footers for the new rides so should be able to accurately speculate fairly soon.

Something like this could be a good fit - Paultons are absolutely capable of delivering something high level and detailed, I'd love to see their interpretation of it! I remember one of the planning/development documents having a water ride on the front cover which is where I think the rumours began (unless I've missed more details!). I, like a long list of many others 😂 would love to see a decent woodie, I know Lawrence put the RMC hopes and dreams to bed but... there are other options! And... what if he's bluffing 🤔😂 A girl can dream!

Do we think Paultons are going to want to want to create something completely unique to other Viking areas with completely different attractions or could we see some familiar flats? 🤔 I'm in two minds about Edge; retheming it to fit when Drayton has Thor doesn't seem likely but I have a soft spot for a Disk-o so it'd be nice to see it live on somewhere within the park.

Following the Superfans event last night, we now have lots of new information regarding the Viking themed development now named "Valgard"

Here's the big reveal video as well as some more information which was shared (Livestream is on the second link).

Valgard will feature multiple new attractions and a retheme of an existing attraction.
-> Drakon - The parks first rollercoaster to feature an inversion and set to be the tallest and fastest on park. A Gerstlauer Euro Fighter coaster (Est height restriction 1.25m*)
-> Vild Swing - An ARTEngineering Wild Swing ride which will be a UK first (Est height restriction 90cm*)
-> Raven - A retheme of Cobra which will feature updated theming and ride experience
-> New Food & Beverage options
-> New playarea

There is also talk of "Stormy Seas" in the area come 2027... This project has no further details yet but my personal guess is a water coaster.

Magma will be removed from the park to accomodate this expansion however it will not be leaving the UK! (Closing September 7th)

Edge may be relocating to somewhere else in the park (No further information at the moment)

What do you think? Are you excited for the Vikings to come to Paultons ?

*Height restrictions are not final.

It looks to have potential with this area and without doubt the most thriving UK theme park.
And Drakon (a Gerstlauer Eurofighter), I heard quite a bit of hate about their new coaster (mainly due to the "Over the Shoulder Restraints") but in my honest opinion, I think this type of coasters is a great fit for Paultons Park and I'm greatfull they are doing this as all of their rides doesn't invert.
And the 2027 attraction is certainly a Mack Rides water coaster of some sort.
Definitely a park to look out for.

OTSR restraints have been chosen due to the target audience of the park :) Visually, an OSTR reassures parents/younger guests that they won't "fall out" or anything like that, ensuring security (Even if lapbars are a preferred experience)

I'm pretty excited, I do like a Gerstlauer. Future is bright and we're here for it all

It all looks exciting ; smaller details like the mill and the wooden structures by the ride entrances look great. I've only done SAW, which looks like a different ride experience. My family all hate SAW, and my friends are a bit 50/50. Hoping this is smoother and less head-bashy. 🤞

I do, however, feel like this land is missing something. Wish they rethemed Edge or Magma to fit in with it, and moved the Viking boats over. They did a really good job repurposing attractions for Tornado Springs (which has a really good ride count for one land), so it's a shame not to see it done here, though I understand if they're making space for the expansion in 2027.

I feel like it will definitely be smoother than Saw ^^'

There could be potential to see some movements of attractions down the line - The boats would be a great fit for sure :)
